Amanda Plummer Cast as Wiress
Earlier, Lionsgate announced the newest member of the “Catching Fire” cast, Amanda Plummer. Plummer is set to play Wiress, the female tribute from District 3.
Plummer has also been in other films Pulp Fiction and The Fisher King.
Rumored: Sam Clafin offered the role of Finnick
Zap2It reported that British actor Sam Clafin was offered the role of Finnick in the upcoming film. Lionsgate still has yet to confirm any Finnick rumors, so I don’t know how true this rumor is.
According to Zap2It:
Official reps for the film won’t comment on the casting, but our reliable sources reveal that producer Nina Jacobson and Lionsgate have signed off on Clafin’s offer.
I guess we will just have to wait and see whether or no this news is true, but if so, I will be pleased. Clafin starred in one of my favorite period dramas, White Heat, and I think he would make a wonderful Finnick. Is Clafin who you guys imagined to play the part?
Update: Lionsgate confirms Sam Clafin will play Finnick in the film.
Mags and Beetee Cast in “Catching Fire”
Variety revealed the actor and actress that are confirmed to play Beetee and Mags in “The Hunger Games” sequel. Melissa Leo is close to getting the part of Mags, and Tony Shalhoub is close to getting the part of Beetee.
Although Lionsgate has yet to sign their contracts or confirm this news, they will probably release more casting information next week.
Update: Representatives for Melissa Leo confirm that she will not play Mags in “Catching Fire”
“Catching Fire” will be released November 22, 2013
